The EW Skinny
The Evolving Word is designed for three purposes: miscellaneous rambling (a token gesture, as there are a million sites designed for this), my creative publishing, and thoughts and news on words -- origins, differences, anomalies, etc.

Enjoy it, or not; comment, or not; but do not ignore it. Or ignore it. Whatever.

The Best Word Ever
Posted on Tuesday, May 27 @ 07:47 AM PST by joel

Language This may not necessarily be my choice for the best word ever, but it is rapidly garnering acclaim across the Internet. The word that I am referring to is "Asshat". And this guy believes that it is the best word ever.

Other sites have jumped on the Asshat bandwagon.

If you look up Asshat on Google, you will find an astonshing number of references to this word across the Internet. It has become so popular that it has found a place in the catalogue of common lingua, the Urban Dictionary. Various definitions exists for Asshat, but it is clear that it is some kind of swear to those who upset you.

Already URL claimed, Asshat is clearly an evil word, and should be used only when appropriately warned.

It's a fine word... but, frankly, I'm shocked at how much devotion it's gotten. See what happens when Trekkie nerds think they might have something cool?

This site is mine. All of the thoughts here are mine. If you steal anything, you are stealing from me. I really don't like people who steal from me. If I find out that this is happening, I will hunt you down and generally indicate my displeasure in various, probably non-threatening, ways. You really don't want to see that.
