I have already made my feelings clear about this. The height of hypocrisy is the condemnation of another for something you actively do. Yes, we want to protect ourselves, but do we want to do this in a manner that provokes our enemies? I believe that Congress' opposition to this plan was representative of a belief that there are limits to our immorality. And it is in these actions that I feel somewhat relieved. At least until the next attempt to fuel the fire of hatred and war.
